PIECES OF A DREAM

A total eclipse occurs once on average every 18 months somewhere around the world.. and it is this rarity, this totally humbling experience, the unbelievable equation that because it is so rare that for any one place on earth to have it happen it would only happen about once every 375 years - that helps makes the evolution theory so real and is not based on some blind faith.

Based on the recognised calculation of gravity for the mechanics of nearly all celestial bodies, it is calculated that every year our moon moves away from our planet Earth by approx. 22mm. And if we were to count it for 1.4 billion years into our future (which is the estimate life left into our sun as we know the facts today), then our moon is 22mm x 1.4 billion = 30,800km away from the current location we saw today. If you then factor that our sun will grow by about 5% in that time frame then today we are lucky to witness this eclipse because given man's calculations, it will only take 600 million year for us to never ever see another eclipse again because the moon will be too far away to cover the sun which by then, will be too big to be covered..

To be able to witness the basic fact that the Earth, rotating at approx 460 meters per second and the Moon which is rotating around the Earth at approx 6.5 meters per second; all of which rotate around our Sun at approx. 30,000 meters per second; a Sun which itself is moving through space at approx. 200,000 meters per second, adds up to a degree of universal harmony and will always say to me, not only is our life here unique, though we are just one planet of eight, in a galaxy of more than a few billion other stars and amongst probably a billion more galaxies like our own; that there is not just science behind the Big Bang Theory, but a Solar Eclipse is for me, all the proof I need in order to be able to exercise some common sense over a fairy-tale or of fantasy..!
